Trained as a contemporary dancer
since 2007, Ashley is primarily interested in movement that is expressed from the inside out. The somatic forms of Mitzvah Technique and Continuum Movement have a lasting impact on her creation. Inspired by landscape, story and gesture Ashley explores dance as an interdisciplinary form blurring the boundaries between art, life and dance.
Ashley has created interdisciplinary
creations through her years in residency at Living Sky School Division as well as with support from municipal and provincial funding bodies. She trained at the Grant MacEwan Dance Program (Edmonton), University of Calgary Program of Dance, School of Toronto Dance Theater Summer School, Mascall Dance WOW (Vancouver), SOMAfest Movement Arts Festival (Los Angeles) and continues to be influenced and mentored by Robin Poitras of New Dance Horizons (Regina) and Teri Carter of Intention Dance Theater (Los Angeles).
